How do I translate or dub videos on my phone?
Oyelo runs in Chrome on a computer and has no phone version yet. On a phone today, YouTube's own auto-dubbing and auto-translated captions cover part of the need. Leave your email below and we will write once if Oyelo comes to phones.
What works on a phone today
- YouTube auto-dubs some videos into 27 languages. Pick your language under Settings → Languages in the YouTube app. Creators can turn it off, and as of October 2026 English videos are not dubbed into Vietnamese.
- YouTube captions can be auto-translated: turn on captions, then choose Auto-translate and your language. You read the translation; nothing is spoken.
- The Pixel 11 can dub YouTube videos live, but only on that phone.
- Chrome on Android and iPhone cannot install extensions, so Oyelo's Chrome extension does not run there.
Thank you! We will write once if Oyelo comes to phones.
Questions
When will Oyelo be on phones?
There is no date. We are first counting how many people want it; that decides whether a phone version gets built.
Can I install the Oyelo extension in Chrome on my phone?
No. Chrome on Android and iPhone does not install extensions. Oyelo works in Chrome on a Windows, Mac, Linux or ChromeOS computer.
Is Oyelo on a computer free?
Yes. It dubs and translates video for free, with no account and no API key.
What do you do with my email?
Only one email, if Oyelo comes to phones. It is not shared, and it is deleted after 12 months.
